HMCI owns and operates two tertiary care hospitals in Malaysia, the flagship Mahkota Medical Centre in Malacca and Regency Specialist Hospital in Iskandar Malaysia, Johor, which provide a comprehensive suite of medical and surgical disciplines. To reach out to regional patients, HMI has a network of 20 patient representative offices. With more than 15 years of experience in hospital management, HMI provides project consultancy and advisory services.
HMI also owns and operates HMI Institute of Health Sciences in Singapore and Mahkota Institute of Health Sciences and Nursing in Malacca, Malaysia.

Mahkota was established with one main aim; that is to provide the safest, highest quality health care to our patients. This is what we strive for each day and I hope that we have accomplished this in the past years. We have achieved a number of milestones in 2016 and one of those that I would like to share with you is that we are the first hospital in Melaka and Negeri Sembilan that started the PET-CT Scan services, providing the most complete Cancer Support Services to all our patients.

Mahkota Medical Centre (MMC) has established itself as a tertiary hospital of repute in Malaysia and in the region, providing quality medical services at affordable rates. Managed and owned by Health Management International Ltd (HMI), the hospital plays a vital part in the healthcare group’s operations. HMI was listed on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) in 1999.
The hospital is currently staffed with more than 90 full time medical specialists of various disciplines. MMC’s management comprises of personnel with varying qualifications. There is a good mixture of personnel who have been with the company since its inception and those who have recently joined from other established organisations.
The hospital currently manages 279 beds in seven wards, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Coronary Care Unit (CCU) and Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). The hospital also operates other medical facilities including nine major Operating Rooms (ORs) and one Minor OR, Radiology Services, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Day Procedure Unit, Health Screening Services, Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy Services, IVF Services, Haemodialysis Services, Rehabilitation Services, Dental Services and Aesthetic & Laser Services.
Besides the core services, the hospital also provides other services including the cafeteria and retail facilities on the Ground Floor.
Mahkota Medical Centre is actively involved in “Health Tourism” which is strongly supported by the Malaysian government. Statistically, more than 85,000 foreign patients come to Mahkota Medical Centre for medical treatment annually.

Mahkota Medical Centre (MMC) takes pride in its quality indicators which is testimony to its continuous quality improvement towards quality care and patient safety. One can be reassured that MMC does not compromise on the level of quality care when meeting patients’ needs and safety.
To ensure that MMC meets its quality objectives, clinical indicators are selected, measured and monitored for trends and improvement. MMC benchmarks her results against public and private hospitals, such as that by the Malaysian Productivity Corporation (MPC) since 2004.
